You were not feeling well today. It's always a sure sign when you don't enjoy bath time. As I cleaned up dinner, Pawpaw help you and you were content. I hope you feel better soon sweet boy!

Goodbye 267 JD Trail

Moving day has arrived! We worked hard all day getting all of our stuff into storage. After 500+ days of being on the market we are excited that our house is selling! It's been a wonderful home. The walls hold special memories, lots of laughter and have welcomed home both our baby boys. We have mixed emotions leaving but know that great things are in our future!

Packing Party

This weekend our dear friends came to help us pack our house. It's hard to believe we will be moving in a month.

Treasure

Today was one of the best days ever!!! We had a family fun day in Cherokee. First we ate lunch at Paul's, an Indian owned restaurant. Then we went gem mining followed by a visit to the local river. Dax walked and splashed in the water and built a rock dam with daddy. You and I hung out on the edge of the water. You sat on a rock with your little feet in the cold water. You were so, so cute splashing both feet excitedly in the water. I was not prepared to get as wet as you were getting me, but I absolutely loved watching you have fun in the water.   You also sat in the water and I had to make sure you didn't eat the rocks or sand. Our final stop was at an ice cream shop. While we were there an old man commented on how I was always smiling. I told him I had three wonderful reasons to smile: you, Dax and daddy! So as we call it a day and go to bed I thank God for true treasure! My family brings me great joy! Love you and my heart swells when you say "momma."

Your First Fourth of July

Today was a fun, relaxing day with family.  This evening we cooked out with Aunt Jenny, Uncle Bobby, Gracie, Dylan and Mamaw.  You ate a hotdog and watermelon!  These were two more firsts on this holiday first for you.  You seemed to really enjoy both.  We watched the movie, The Impossible, which was actually a sad/emotional movie.  After that we all went over to see Papaw and took him some food.  It was really cute watching you play with Papaw.  Since it was a rainy day we didn't watch fireworks.  On the way home we caught a glimpse of some here and there.  It was a great day!

First Time to the Beach

Yesterday we left for vacation as soon as you woke up. We were on the road by 7am and had made it to Myrtle Beach shortly after 1pm. We had to make a couple of stops but you did well over all. The last thirty minutes we tough for you and you were tired of being in your car seat. You cried and cried! After lunch at a local burger place and going to the grocery store we checked into our room and took a nap. We enjoyed a great dinner of ribs and steak at Thorny's. Afterward we played a round of putt putt!  You were a real trooper considering we didn't get back to our room until after 10pm! This morning was extra special...after waking up we took you to the beach for your very first time! You were very calm and nonchalant with the water. As I held you, you enjoyed watching the waves come and crash around us. Sitting on the beach was an adventure! You wanted to scoot off the beach towels. Grabbing and playing with the sand was very entertaining for you! I had to really watch you because you kept wanting to eat the sand! We finally took you to the pool while daddy and Dax finished building their sand castle. Back in our room we cleaned up and took a nap. A huge crack of thunder woke you with a fright. Our evening included a seafood buffet, round two of putt putt and a night swim at the pool. You loved the the pool. I was so impressed with your splashing and kicking! You exhibited true swimming techniques and thoroughly had a great time playing in the water. It was great to see you not be scared of the water. Now you are snoozing away, completely exhausted from such a fun filled day! This has been a wonderful vacation so far and  I can't wait to see what our next few days have in store for us! It has been wonderful to see such big smiles on my boys' faces! 

Sizzling Summer

I am loving being off for the summer and hanging out with my boys! You continue to sleep and nap well. You're still scooting around although you are rolling and flipping around a lot...making yourself mad! You are a content, happy baby and only cry or get upset if you need something. I've been trying really hard to start giving you more solid foods. This week you have had cheese, mashed potatoes, biscuit, Oreo, Hershey's bar, crackers, spaghetti and anything else we are eating at seems possible for you! You are enjoying the food and I think you are about over with baby food! We took you last Friday for your ten month check up. You weigh 22 lbs 10 oz (75%) and 31 inches long (95%). Growing strong! Yesterday we went over to Pawpaw and Mimi's pool to swim. You enjoyed the water! Today we took Dax fishing for the first time! It won't be long and you will be fishing too!
