Shoes & Feet

You cracked us up tonight!  Your dad found you in Dax's room with his bottom drawer open.  I had stuffed some of Dax's shoes in there and you had some scattered on the floor with you.  We were quite surprised to see that you had figure out how to open the drawer.  I must also say that you hate to wear shoes and socks.  I have tried several times to put them on you and before we are even out the door you have pulled them off.  So, you may not enjoy wearing them, but you sure do love to play with shoes!  Then, later in the evening Dax was sitting in time out.  We heard Dax complaining about something and it turns out you had scooted over to him and was grabbing his feet and biting his toes!  We couldn't help but laugh again!  We are starting to wonder if you have a foot/shoe fetish! LOL!  We love you and are so thankful for the joy you bring us!  There is never a dull moment with you and your brother!  Love you both so, so much!

First Time in a Swimming Pool

Tonight was the graduation celebration at for Dax's school (Erwin Daycare).  This year they decided to have the ceremony at the high school pool.  It was a wonderful idea and the kids loved it, including you!  Dax was excited to play in the water and we were eager to let you try it out.  Despite the cold water you loved getting wet!  First, I held you and let you dip yours toes in the water.  You were quick to pull your feet out of the water.  I then eased you into the water and sat you down in the shallow end.  You scooted around and had the best time splashing around!  We can't wait to spend time at the pool with you and Dax!  Hopefully we will also get a chance take you to the beach this summer!

First Park Visit

Last Friday night daddy had to work at the Waynesville Pizza Hut. We decided to go eat dinner there so we could see him. It was very impromptu, but we invited Tara and her family to join us. We all ended up eating dinner together. They said they knew of a really nice park in the area so we took advantage of the daylight saving time and had a fun play date, too! You enjoyed swinging although you are still quite small and need to be held secure. We put you on a rubber bridge and let you show Tara and Jimmy how you scoot around. Dax had a poop accident that we quickly cleaned up. Going commando didn't slow him down! Him and Aubry enjoyed running and playing together. You enjoyed watching the big kids. As we were leaving Dax slipped and fell hurting his chin. We learned flip flops and the park do not mix! We will remember that the next time we visit a park. It was indeed a blessed, fun Friday with family and friends!

Dedicated to God

"Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
 --Proverbs 22:6

Today was a very special day.  On this lovely Mother's Day we went to church as a family.  Thankfully, daddy did not have to work and was able to go with us.  His schedule has kept him extremely busy lately.  At the eleven o'clock service there was a special ceremony for baby dedications.  Daddy and I made a public promise to raise you in a Godly home so that you will grow to know the Lord as your personal Savior.  I live for the day when you and Dax make the decision to accept Christ into your hearts.  Our family came to share in this special occasion and took up an entire pew at church!  Grandma, Uncle Wade, Pawpaw, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Bobby, Gracie, Moses and Mamaw all came.  The church service was a true blessing and encouragement to be the best mother I can be for you two wonderful boys.  Being Mother's Day I can honestly say that I am truly blessed and love being your momma!  Every day is such a joy with you and Dax.  You both keep life fun and interesting.  For about a week now you have been on the move!  You're not crawling yet, but you sure are scooting around.  We've been calling you "Scooter."  Also, the past four nights in a row you have slept through the night!  Usually you wake up once, get a diaper change, drink a bottle and go back to sleep.  Daddy and I have enjoyed sleeping through the night and hope this is the new bedtime routine.  Hopefully I didn't jinx it by talking about it! :)

As you sleep and I write this, I vow to teach you about God, take care of you, comfort you, be here for you, cheer for you and always try to be the best momma I can be for you!  I love you with all my heart my sweet four toothed, scootin' happy boy!
